Yes, I’m a retro gamer

I’ve already written about it on the front page of my site. I’m still in love with the 80’s and their technology, all those microcomputers owned by all those school boys like me, the Commodore 64, the ZX Spectrum, the CPC Amstrad, the MSX compatible, etc. They were machines for video games but, too, the first contact with technology for so many kids.
I used to copy the games with a two tapes device, it was really easy to seize the last pirated video game at the flea market on weekends. The Commodore 64 even had a device connected to the computer to copy all the possible games. The Commodore 64 had cartridges as well, but almost all the games came on a tape, very easy to copy.
I began to program my Commodore 64 first in Basic and afterwards in assembler, some routines which were too slow to be programmed in Basic. They weren’t only game machines but pieces of technology for a first contact.
It’s been a long time since I last touched my Commodore 64, and I still haven’t found other video games more entertaining than those of 35 years ago. I love the retro games such as Space Invaders, JetPac, Pac-man, etc…., those are more fun for me than the new supergames of the current consoles.
You may think that I’m too old to appreciate the current technology, and may be you are right, I prefer a good Pac-man rather than the last installment of Halo for X-Box.
